- EXECUTIVE OFFICERS
-
The executive officers are the President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary. Their roles are largely administrative and are described in the club bylaws.
- PRESIDENT
-
The President shall be the chief executive officer and general manager. The president shall be charged with the executive management and direction of all of the business, operations, and properties of the corporation, and the president shall do and perform such other and specific duties as from time to time may be assigned to the president by the board of directors.
- CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
-
The primary function of the CFO is to manage the financial health of the club, and to be a source of financial advice for the club Board. The duties of the Club CFO are monthly club
income/expense analysis and reporting for the Board, providing for adequate financial
controls for club income and records, preparing annual budgets and tax returns, monthly reconciliation of bank accounts, reimbursement of club expenses, review and approval of all vendor contracts and major financial commitments of the club, and identifying ways to improve the financial position of the club.
- SECRETARY
-
The secretary shall keep the minutes of all meetings of the board of directors and the minutes of all meetings of members, and also (unless otherwise directed by the chairman or president) the minutes of all committees, in books provided for that purpose. The secretary shall attend to the giving and serving of all notices of the corporation; the secretary may sign with the chairman and/or president, in the name of the corporation, all contracts authorized by the board of directors, the chairman or by the president, and, when so ordered by the board of directors, the chairman or by the president, shall affix the seal of the corporation thereto; the secretary shall have charge of the membership certificate books and such other books and papers as the board of directors, the chairman or the president may direct, all of which shall, at all reasonable times, be open to the examination of any director, upon application at the office of the corporation during business hours; and the secretary shall in general perform all the duties incident to the office of secretary subject to the control of the board of directors, the chairman and/or the president.
- NEWBIE CO-COORDINATORS
-
The Newbie Coordinators answer email questions from newbie members and non-members on a nearly daily basis. They also coordinate a newbie skills clinic during the beginning of the season to help everyone become self-sufficient and self-confident. Because the club is made up of varying ability levels and because people have such different goals, the Newbie Coordinators make sure there are newbie-friendly workouts throughout the year to help encourage people of all levels to participate. Faye and Esteban have agreed to tackle this important job once again.
- SPONSORSHIP CO-COORDINATORS
-
Using the buying power of our 300+ members, our Sponsorship Coordinators to set up symbiotic relationships, the Sponsorship Coordinators secure special deals for the club to enhance understanding of training methods and products and to reduce cost.
- EVENTS CO-COORDINATORS
-
These are the "wow I had so much fun at event XX" positions. Club events and races are the fun that members love and the reasons they tell their friends about us. The Events Coordinators are the coordinators for all the major club events: PepStock Annual Picnic, WF Training/Race weekends, Alcatraz Booth, monthly socials, bi-monthly speakers , annual parties and more. Since event planning is one of the more timely jobs and since there are so many events throughout the year, it is recommended (and almost expected) that the Coordinators will have several committees of members to help with the tasks. Members are generally willing to help on a committee in some small way, so someone with strong coordination, delegation and interpersonal skills who can oversee these committees is recommended for the position. Luckily this year we have the two who fit the bill: Tracey & Todd.
- WEB DEVELOPERS
-
Web developers are responsible for the functional features of the website: members section, online registration, calendar, mailing lists, email accounts etc. We take pride in our website as a useful resource for tri-knowledge as well as a fun place to go to see race and member's photos. And because members like the website so much, they always have ideas on how to improve it, so the job of the Web Developers is rarely over, but always rewarding. Some recommended skills include: HTML, PHP, Perl, Unix, Gnu Mailman, SQL.
- WEB CONTENT COORDINATOR
-
The WCC is effectively the face of the club to the public at large. He or she is responsible for keeping information on the web site fresh and current, including the front page spotlight and news sections. Though that is not the limit of this position.s reach or importance. The WCC also browses other pages for which he or she may not know all of the details; for example, the WCC will browse the club training pages regularly and bug the respective officers to update their pages should some of the information be kept up to date. This is a very important job to the club because offiers and members often refer new members (and current members) to the website for information on programs and everything tri. When the information on the site becomes unreliable, it ceases being a resource.
- VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
-
In 2003 we added a number of volunteer opportunities. It will be the job of the Volunteer Coordinator to keep the contacts to the major volunteer events and coordinate the gathering and organization of volunteers for these events. There will be one major volunteer a month at the most, maybe two towards the end of the summer for TriOne and Vineman in August, if we decide to do both again.
- TRI2HELP
-
Tri2Help is the charitable arm of the club. Chartered to raise money and volunteers for the Club Charity (xxx), the Tri2Help Coordinator will be the primary point of contact and will organize the events related to the particular charity. (though we won.t hold it against her if she decides to enlist the events coordinators)
- ATHLETE SPONSORSHIP COORDINATOR
-
This position will be the most work at the beginning and end of the season. It will require distributing, collecting and presenting candidates for Athelete Sponsorship to the Board. Once the athletes are picked, the Athlete Sponsorship Coordinator will have minimal work until the end of the season when it comes time to verify race results / volunteer requirements and recommend payment to the Board. Though the ACC will probably work with the Newbie Coordinators and the Athletes to coordinate clinics and ensure that the Athletes are meeting their requirements.
- UNIFORM/GEAR COORDINATOR
-
This job requires organizational skills to track inventory (tshirts, bottles, hats) and take/place orders. The UG Coordinator will with the uniform company to place an order at the beginning of every season so members may have cycling jerseys and racing uniforms in time for race season beginning roughly at the end of April. He or she will also need to coordinate with the Sponsorship folks so we can get each year.s gold sponsors on the racing uniforms.
- MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR
-
The membership coordinator does a bunch of work at the beginning of the season with tasks tapering off a bit during the year. The role of this officer is to welcome new members, track registration and membership fees, provide membership packages/goodie bags and market for/recruit potential members. This person must coordinate with the CFO and the Uniform/Gear Coordinator on a regular basis. They should also coordinate with the Sponsorship officers to make sure that the members are reaping the benefits of the freebies and discounts that are offered to the paying membership.
- MENTOR PROGRAM CO-COORDINATORS
-
The mentor program matches experienced triathletes with less experienced ones to provide a closer relationship to help the newbie get his or her tri legs. The Coordinators of this program will provide email correspondence between mentor and mentee and will organize once quarterly meetings for all mentors and mentees to get together.
- SWIM COORDINATOR
-
The Swim Coordinator is in charge of the popular SF Tri swim program. It is his or her job to coordinate with local pools, open water swim instructors and local coaches to provide our members with the best triathlon-focused swim program in the bay area. This is a challenging job as finding water to swim in is much harder than you.d think. Luckily swim guru Cristin Reichmuth has accepted this position.
- BIKE COORDINATOR
-
The Bike Coordinator will organize (not necessarily lead) weekend rides. It.s recommended that he schedule two or three ride groups to start from the same place so people can meet and mingle for a bit before the ride. He will also organize bike clinics and workshops to help members be safe and fast! Jim is already in talks with a coach (recommended by Sandy) for a wildflower clinic.
- RUN CO-COORDINATORS
-
The Run Co-Coordinators will not only run our flagship weekly track program, but they will also coordinate weekend runs and SFTri running race outings. Their goal should be to always have someone taking attendance like a hawk at track, and to have at least one scheduled run on the calendar on the weekends. Ideally there would be multiple runs on the calendar, one for each of say 3 ability levels. Chuck has agreed to handle the track part, and Bryan Hansen and Melissa Blaum will handle the long runs.
