THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN 2007!
In addition to two hugely successful restoration projects in Land's End, your support of SFTriClub programs raised yet another $4000 in donations for the Parks Conservancy! That makes $12,000 to date, along with hundreds of man-hours (and woman-hours) of volunteer work! Great job, team!

SFTriClub Tri2Help Partnership with Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy
|
|
One of the things that set SFTriClub apart is its commitment to give back to the community via volunteer work and charitable donations. In 2005, we began a hugely rewarding and successful Tri2Help partnership with The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy. Our partnership with the Parks Conservancy allows us to give back to the beautiful Bay Area outdoor environment in which we train and race! This is accomplished in two ways:
- A portion of proceeds from ALL SFTriClub programs and events is donated to the Parks Conservancy at year's end!
- Each year, we schedule two "Trails Forever" group volunteer projects to help Parks Conservancy maintain and beautify the very terrain on which we train!
About Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy
The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy is a nonprofit organization created to preserve the Golden Gate National Parks, enhance visitors' experience, and build a community dedicated to conserving the parks for the future.
Did you know that the Golden Gate National Parks includes a LOT more than just Presidio, Alcatraz and Crissy Fields? The parks actually stretch 70 miles north and south of the Golden Gate Bridge, creating a 75,500 acre greenbelt along the Pacific Ocean. From Tomales Bay in the north to the San Mateo watershed in the south, the parks include ancient redwoods, historic landmarks, miles of trails, rocky shorelines, rare and endangered species, lush coastal wilderness and breathtaking vistas! Without these beautiful parks, our outdoor training options would be quite limited! Let's help preserve and maintain these parks and trails for generations of triathletes and outdoor enthusiasts to come!

So how can YOU support Tri2Help & GGNPC?
- Participate in more SFTriClub programs, workouts, and events!
A portion of proceeds from ALL SFTriClub programs and events will be donated to the Parks Conservancy at the end of each year. Because most club programs have just a fixed set-up cost, the more people participate, the more likely our programs can break even or generate profits. These profits will in turn become SFTriClub's year-end donations to the Parks Conservancy!
- Invite your friends to join SFTriClub!
Besides the rich resources and friendly folks to support triathletes of all levels, your friends will feel great that joining SFTriClub allows them to give back to the beautiful outdoor environment in which we all live and play! As SFTriClub membership numbers grow, we will be able to plan bigger volunteer projects and donate a more substantial amount to the Parks Conservancy at year's end. So spread the word to all your friends interested in triathlons and giving back to the community!
- Participate in special "Trails Forever" Volunteer Projects!
In 2006, we are planning 2 fun projects with the Parks Conservancy's "Trails Forever" initiative. These projects allow us to maintain and beautify the very trails on which we run and bike! They may involve sweeping, planting, weeding, compacting different parts of the trails. Bring your friends, neighbors, coworkers and family (including teenagers) to join in on the fun! In 2005, our first project took place in May, working on the Crissy Field Promenade and Battery East Trail. The second project took place in October, working higher up on the same trail. The events keep getting more fun every time, be sure to check out the pictures from the events, and come join us next time!

Join us in 2006 for the fun, and help out the community at the same time!
